You do misunderstand, if you think you describe my thoughts.
I've already downloaded the BeBook firmwares in anticipation of a purchase. Look at the matrix, if you don't think they are similar value for money.
The only thing stopping me now is the minor hassle of the new purchase, followed by my auction on eBay, and the tiny probability that neither of the following is true:
- Bookeen have a serious problem either with hardware or mask ROM that prevents a reflash of some part of the new firmware from the SD card, although not from the factory procedure, which probably uses a JTAG interface,
- Bookeen have a serious problem with their priorities which is likely affecting the business generally. Deafening silence from a business is often an indication of internal crisis, so I wouldn't be surprised if we hear of some financial difficulty down the road.
