I spent the morning at the periodontist to get a titanium screw implanted in my jaw where they had to extract a tooth 2 months ago. The extraction went so badly that what should have been a simple and quick procedure took 2 hours. Because my peridontist missed a little of the old tooth, I had to spend another 2 hours in the chair today having her picking and tugging and drilling to get that little bit out. Consequently, She wasn't able to do the implant and I have to go back in another 2 months to get it done. I don't mind that so much except that the procedure is VERY expensive and now they are going to charge me extra (and I mean EXTRA) because she missed that little bit of tooth. (The actual cost is the same as Zack's tuition at GMU for one semester. ) Unfortunately, though I have two kinds of dental insurance, this procedure isn't covered because they consider it "Cosmetic Dentristy". It isn't. I kind of need that tooth to chew things. On top of all that, it is very painful, my jaw is swollen, and I can only eat mush for the next few days. I don't like mush.
There is a silver-lining, though. My children, thank God, received their dental genetics from my husband who has strong healthy teeth.

My recommendation for food. Make some stew, (your choice of receipe) and throw it into a blender and vroom until it's paste. it'll taste just like the stew and you can eat it! Should be able to do the same for soups....
