No problem, but you can get in a lot of trouble for that around here (Kindle owners are the minority).

You'll find a lot more information in the Which one should I buy? forum. It depends on how you will use your reader, what you like to read and what country you live in. My biased opinion? Screen quality, portability and free content are priorities for me, so if I had to buy one (or give "props" to one) today I would get a Sony PRS-300. However, your priorities may differ.
