Thanks for your kind replies. I had read most of the posts, but not the "PRS-505 in Demo Mode -- How to exit??" one: the title did not sound helpful, but it brought success. Thanks again, you've unbricked my brand new PRS! (pfewww, dodeged a bullet!)
