They clearly (?) state: "can be available via firmware upgrade" meaning "ePub support can and may - in its own discretion - choose to be available via a firmware upgrade". But even if the (personified) ePub support chooses to be availabe (which it *can* do but not necessarily really *does*) this would be effected only by a firmware upgrade. While no one will contest that it certainly *is* possible that ePub support *can* be introduced via a firmware upgrade, there is no mention in the text that such FW upgrade already exists or - effectively - ever will.
The statement by Bookeen is an excercise in logic, nevertheless it is not untrue: They merely state the possibility of a theoretical extension of capabilities via a hypothetical FW upgrade.
Just because Bookeen's style is as complicated and roundabout as Jacques Derrida's is no reason for criticism, after all they're both French
