This statement misrepresents the Cybook's existing capabilities. No where in the specifications does it mention that the firmware upgrade has been promised for months, but has yet to materialize.
They clearly (?) state: "can be available via firmware upgrade" meaning "ePub support can and may - in its own discretion - choose to be available via a firmware upgrade". But even if the (personified) ePub support chooses to be availabe (which it *can* do but not necessarily really *does*) this would be effected only by a firmware upgrade. While no one will contest that it certainly *is* possible that ePub support *can* be introduced via a firmware upgrade, there is no mention in the text that such FW upgrade already exists or - effectively - ever will.

The statement by Bookeen is an excercise in logic, nevertheless it is not untrue: They merely state the possibility of a theoretical extension of capabilities via a hypothetical FW upgrade.
Just because Bookeen's style is as complicated and roundabout as Jacques Derrida's is no reason for criticism, after all they're both French
