My mom always hung new clothes in her closet for at least 2 weeks before she wore them. That way, if my dad asked her if something she was wearing was new, she could say, "No, I've had it awhile." I actually don't have to do that. David doesn't care what I buy as long as we have the funds and since I handle the bills he doesn't know anyway. To be honest, I would never buy something big (big being over $100) without discussing it with him first.
