i clean my keyboard with the vacuum. it has a brush with extra long bristles, and i put that on and run it across the keys, pressing down to make a gap for the dust / cat hair / whathaveyou can get out. it seems pretty effective. make sure your computer is off before trying this. there is also the "turn upside down and bang on the back of it" method, which can work for crumbs and the occasional flying ant (bleeding idiots, those things).
