On the day the decision was due to be announced, someone had the forethought to bring a radio to work, and a whole bunch of us gathered around it at the relevant time. When it was announced London had got them, most of my colleagues got really excited and started cheering. I groaned and skulked off.

As is that. I know of people who do that during Wimbledon each year (we're not close enough for it to be an option for us
