Asking mobileread to do something simple that some users/readers would see as a benefit is really no different than wanting Sony or Amazon to do the same. Neither are obliged, but both should probably care about the people they supposedly mean to serve.

Also many people here assume a sharing or open source culture (I do at least). And in such a culture you contribute sometimes by suggesting enhancements. There is also a great value in having everything as open as possible because that will lead to new things that could not be predicted.
Concerning depending on feedback it would be much better to implement a real feedback system were people could tell if they had read the book and how much they liked it. And for this it would be an advantage to have torrents so people stopped depending on the current very limited feedback and implemented some new and better system.
