I've never actually put money into FW's micropay, but I've gotten lots of free books using the system. Sign up for their emails and newsletters. That's where you find out what books are 100% micropay rebates each week. When you buy them, the micropay "bucks" go into your account.
You can set it to either use your balance with each purchase or save them for a big splurge. I usually do the first option, so with a book marked down 25% and then applied micropay, it might only actually cost a dollar or less.
Of course, the account has been empty for a while, ever since FW sort of went stale and glommed onto Ereader so tightly. But that's another thread.
