If you like Butcher's Dresden Files you should check out his Codex Alera series. More along the lines of heroic fantasy but still entertaining and, I think, better written than his Dresden series.
In the genre of Dresden I feel Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld series is better, not that Dresden is awful.
