And additionally, Grandma Aubbie, you do understand that having a program in the Dock is not what determines if it is considered the native application for a file, right? From your description, it sounded like you made the connection that the book opened in ADE instead of the Sony Library because ADE was in the dock while the Sony Library was not.

That's right. It was 100% user error - I was attempting to import the books BEFORE I connected my sony reader to avoid any problems.
I downloaded the Sony Library, but then accidentally opened/used the Adobe Digital (mistakenly) from the Dock. My Sony Library is now in my Dock - and I've removed the Adobe Digital.
