I Can confirm that the 700 M-Edge case works perfectly for the 505. The spine area is narrower, and for me it is better because it is less "floppy" than the 505 cover. If you have a light that fits in the spine area, it may be too narrow.
I really like the way the 700 cover fits the 505 much better for my purposes.
