Some fanfic writers absolutely don't want their works available offline; they want them in forums where they can get comments, which is their only payment, and in places where they've got some control over who reads them. However, some are happy to have ebooks made, and some have CC licensed their works.

True, comments are a fanfic writer's lifeblood. Hmm, can one e-mail from a Kindle or other wireless readers? I wonder if a link in the bottom of the ebook would facilitate feedback.
Now you've got me thinking about how to make it easy to feedback from an ebook! An e-mail address at the start and end of the story, in the metadata, a reminder at the end of it -- i.e. I have Amalthia's formatted ebook of Resonant's
Transfigurations and there's an e-mail address at the end of it, handily. :shifty look: Which reminds me to feedback, now...
