The 300 charges well with the mini usb ac adapter for my phone and mp3 player. The adapter is 5v 1a output and I believe the dumb usb plug adapters are the same.

I have a usb to barrel-end adapter that came with my gps that is 3.3v 110mA. The barrel-end plug fits in my 300 and the red charging light comes on. I can't identify the plug tip type or what the 300 requires and wanted to know if it will damage the 300 to use it? It looks the same as some I've looked at online, but it's black instead of yellow which is what the Sony adapter is. I could use it plugged into my pc without syncing or my usb plug adapter and would be a nice backup.

Anyone know what tip type the readers use?
