This was one of the dealbreakers between the sony and kindle for me(I have the 505) as well as the price. Happy reading!!

Battery life.
The Kindle is quite short and the Sony is remarkably long.
I own a Kindle and my husband has a Sony 505.
I recharge every day and a half, or so.
My husband has had his Sony for over a week and still has not had to recharge.
That is big - in my book.
Good luck with your decision.

Both good points that I would have mentioned. The long battery life is key--I'm tired of always charging my blackberry, and the Reader is much more 'book-like' because I don't have to worry about recharging, even when traveling. No need to bring another charger along! And I've borrowed a ton of books from the local library--discovered several new authors this way. It's a huge benefit for cost-conscious people who like to read and are willing to discover new books (in case the e-library doesn't have a particular book you want).
