I've not tried it, but I believe that it you disable to accelerometer, the screen will stay in its current orientation, so you'd need to enable the accelerometer, turn the device the way that you wanted it, and then disable the accelerometer.
Provided, however, you hold the Opus pretty much upright, the accelerometer is not sensitive at all. It only becomes so if the device is near the horizontal.
