I say, stone tablets are even better for conservation (inner historian: yay, more sources!). And surely, you'd have nicely muscled historians if humanity'd just stick to that medium! Now, having working archives would be a bit more problematic, but at least some archivist would have a real reason to be always morose, after moving all that
