eReader (Palm/Peanut Press) DRM has always used a CC number as a key. That's why some people like it, it's not tied to a device.

Then it's changed, because when I setup an account a week ago it clearly explained what would happen. I've got 27 free books in my library and there isn't a single charge on my CC.
