3) What is the return process, are we to email them, and they'll email me a return shipping label? ETA: Just read what griffonwing quoted, that Astak would send a shipping label....

Actually, yes, the sitting at the U.S. post office should serve you well. Ours here are fine now and are not exhibiting any problems. The paint should have set and yours should be fine unless the paint peeling started already (very slight chance).
Suzy... we are very sorry for this doubt and inconvenience and frustration. We DO stand behind the product and we will make it right if it is not already. Do not let this ruin the fact that this is a great ebook reader and in short order should be outstanding in every way.
