People say the glare is a non-issue over and over also. That doesn't bother me. Sometimes apologists even claim the "glare" is not really even really true glare at all and that I'm using the word wrong. That IS annoying to me. Also people saying that other people are annoying for voicing their contrary opinions, is annoying.

I am not a picky person, hardly ever return anything, and was pretty sure I'd fall in line with the 600 lovers. I complain not for the sake of complaining, but because I wish there had been more of a preponderance of detractors before I bought mine. My criterion for a good device is one that allows you to forget you're using an ebook reader, and for me the shiny screened 600 fails that test relative to my Kindle. I find the glare, though not a deal breaker, is a distracting impediment to easy, comfortable reading in various lighting conditions which is not at ALL balanced by the gimmicky touchscreen functionality.

On the other hand, the loss of sharpness and contrast are slight and negligible to my eyes.
