You know those little rubber stops that are on the inside of kitchen cabinets to keep them from slamming closed? Basically they are round silicon discs about 1/4 inch in diameter. You can get them from any hardware store and they are sticky on one side.

How about applying one of those to the inside of the cover near the buttons. The idea would be for it to bump against the case, not the button, when the case is closed. This would make it more difficult to accidentally press the button.
