It's fascinating from the standpoint of the materials that have been used to manufacture fountain pens over time:
  • Iridium
  • Chrome plating (chromium)
  • Osmium
  • Stainless steel
  • Gold
  • Plastic
  • and probably others I'm unaware of.
I'm told that most products marked 'iridium' nowadays aren't - but wouldn't that be false advertising?
