In fact, the e-book was to be released at the same time as the paper book. But the night before the great event, the editor in charge of the electronic version was found murdered, with Calibre's icon branded on his forehead and an enter key in place of his missing left eye. When a well-known visiting professor at the local university was summoned to the crime scene at the crack of dawn, the first thing he noted was that the enter key did not belong to the editor's keyboard, and, in fact, had been taken from an ancient IBM XT clone keyboard manufactured in the Vatican back in the '80's.
While investigations are under way, Police authorities have asked the editors to delay the release of the electronic version of "The Lost Symbol" and keep quiet about the murder.
The editor's daughter, a breath-taking beauty with brains, has joined the Professor in an effort to solve this mistery.
