Nokia e62 as an ebook reader
I like to carry only one device and so I've been doing all my ebook reading on my Palm Treo 680. The screen is a bit small for this, however. Recently I've been using my Nokia e62 and find that it is a far more convenient platform for reading than the Palm. The landscape screen is ideal and the button placement makes changing pages easier than on the Palm. It is a Symbian Series 60 machine and so it's software platform is more limited than the Palm or Windows Mobile. However, Mobipocket works fine on the machine. eReader does not work and they tell me that they have no plans to release a version for newer Symbian machines.
For those of you in Europe, the e61 is the same machine, but far more powerful. Here in the States, Cingular really gutted the machine - I guess to keep the price down. I've seen a pre-production e61i, and when it is released in Europe I'm ordering an unlocked machine to use here. This will be a beautiful piece of equipment!
