I have several devices, all have a screen protector. And none have bubbles and dust. Though, I should replace the one on my PDa as it is getting more and more scratches.
I'd probably put an anti-glare protector on a touch-screen, if the screen itself wouldn't suffer from it. At least my screen won't be scratched, but the protector. And you can replace that easily...
