I found this forum after my PRS 700 died in the opening screen, and after reading all the posts, I did a soft reset, then connected to the USB port
and while trying to copy the contents of the reader in another folder, found out
that the XML files on the Cache extension was corrupted and could not be copied. (I think this are the ones that keep your notes on the reader). I deleted those files and disconnected the reader. It came back to life!
I have two questions, First, if you want to format the reader while connected to the computer, should I use FAT or FAT 32? and then has anybody tried to do a hard reset as explained in reply #19 and when prompted to format the e reader answered NO and have the reader come back to life.
Thank you for the great Forum
