I have a question on the same general subject of this thread. Google has produced and made available hundred of thousands of OCRed PD texts (epubs) that are based on their scanning project. These are fairly rough and require proofreading to meet the standards of an MR upload. Two questions:

1) Can proofread/converted versions of these epubs be legally uploaded to MR?

2) If so, can the Google verbiage from the start and end of the work be removed prior to the upload?
