Unhappy PRS 500 not working with 0.6.12

... I was trying to find whether there was any further version info anywhere, but I couldn't find anything. I downloaded this version today.

Trying to run on my Mac Pro, it doesn't detect my Sony Reader PRS 500. I found some help in these forums and ran this command:

Code:
> calibre-debug -d
USB devices on system: [(1452, 32773, 272), (1356, 667, 256), (1452, 32773, 272), (1523, 129, 800), (1523, 7, 800), (1452, 32773, 272), (1118, 71, 768), (1452, 33286, 6501), (1452, 32773, 272), (1452, 32774, 512)]
ioreg output saved to /tmp/ioreg.txt

Don't forget to send the file /tmp/ioreg.txt as well
The file ioreg.txt is attached.

It seems like my reader is found, but can't be talked to. I also found posts somewhere in the forums that suggested I should see the a "drive" mounted for the reader or even a second one for its memory card -- I don't get either of these, not on the Mac Pro and not on my MacBook either.

I've had this reader for a long time, but it has always been attached to Windows machines in the past, using Sony's software. Worked fine back then, but that's why I don't have a clue what exactly I should expect on the Mac. Just to be sure, I just attached the reader to a Windows machine and it still works like it used to.

The Mac Pro runs OS X 10.5.8, btw, the MacBook is on 10.6. If you need any further info, please ask!
