Got my silver 600 from Bestbuy.com. It arrived yesterday. Also got the m-edge case from Amazon. So far so good! My first dedicated eReader, so I have little to compare.
My biggest question is how to protect the screen? (I posted a separate thread asking for advice on screen protectors.)
MobileRead is an excellent forum, and the Wiki (above) has good info on libraries, etc.!
