For example, when I double-tap on the top right hand corner to dog-ear-bookmark the page, it takes about 9-10 seconds before the dog-ear appears.

If the books are in main memory, it's almost instantaneous.

Can someone pls comment what is the speed for his/her SD card to make a bookmark? I'm wondering if getting a faster SD card will help, but I understand faster SDs are mainly improving the writing speed and not the reading speed.

Thanks!
I don't recognise any difference at all between internal memory, SD card or memory stick. Neither on Sony 600, nor on Sony 505 or Sony 700.
I only have one serious lag: When changing the card, re-initialisation takes significantly longer on the cards than for eBooks in internal memory.
