Ok, I am now up and running again. I used an original Chinese ver of WinCE to log in with the alpha-numeric password (network key) I then shut down and booted with my Englishized version and it connects automatically again

I pretty sure the computer to computer box should be un-ticked.

You should not need to do anything on your main computer/router unless you have restricted it to know MAC addresses only.
If you already have an entry for your router (shown as preferred?) in the Wireless Information box then delete it (select it and click on advanced, select again and delete). Now when it re-appears in the Wireless Info box select it and click 'connect' It should make you go through the connection procedure again, use the procedure I mentioned earlier and give it another go.

On your Englishized version, when you say it allows mixed letters & numbers, well you can type them in but it won't work. (see Houndx's own post in his thread!) If your router password is mixed alphanumeric then you must load a Chinese version first, log in then change back to the English version.
Phew!
