OK, by picking another SSID on my SDIO advanced properties screen I am trying to log onto a neighbours device so I can go through the connection procedure.
Double-Click the two comp icon in the bottom right corner of your screen. Select the 'Wireless Information' tab. Select your router, click advanced, tick the 'use Windows to configure ...., click 'OK', click 'Connect'
1. Do not tick comp-to-comp box
2. Select encryption for your router
3. Select Authentication
4. Type in your password (Network key)
5. Click 'OK'
I think this is correct, problem now is I have screwed my own machine

It might be that the houndx translation program leaves you with needing a password that must be all numbers, mine is a mix of numbers & letters, that was not a problem when I first connected with the Chinese version. So I am now going to re-install the Chinese version and see If I can log back in again.
