I get a flu shot every autumn and will again this week. I expect to also get one dose of the H1N1 vaccine in October. I've always encouraged my wife and daughters to get one, too. None of us has ever had a serious viral infection. Of course, I have no way of knowing if that's because we've been vaccinated. Nor have we experienced any side effects from the shots except a mildly sore arm the following day.
