I bought a PRS-505 in France (Firmware V1.3) - but I want to change the language to English.

You post seems like the right solution - but I cant find the file
/files.505.1.3.00.22070/opt/sony/ebook/application/resources/scripts/main.xml
that you refer to. When I connect to the reader I only see data related files, no operating system or configuraiton files. Same when I look on the card.
