You bought it instore?
The receipts say "21 days" and don't mention any special provision for the reader just that the item must be in "perfect condition".
I seem to recall that "distance selling" is even more strict and they have to accept returns for 28 days, so if you bought it online you have even more to go on.
Lastly there is always the sale of goods act. Any fault with the machine in the first 6 months is assumed to have been present at point of sale unless the merchant can prove otherwise, so you can hope for an early release manufacturing fault. (damaging it yourself and taking it back would be fraud, so I wouldn't recommend that).
That said, my 600 is growing on me. I'm going to give it a week exclusively before I go instore and argue the toss.
