I'm at work so I can't check this for sure, especially since I use a pc not a mac. With the Reader connected to the computer, go to the Sony library. Open up the list of folders on the Reader. Right click the folder you want and see if delete appears. Otherwise, you might check under the Edit button on the Sony library.
