I believe using a foreign term, especially to avoid a repetition when the common English term was already used a few lines before, is an accepted practice.

I recently read some books from Churchill (who is arguably the most notable English of the last century AND a literature Nobel prize winner) and he was also using foreign words.

Nonetheless, if liseuse is not acceptable, I would suggest using the word "Ereader".
But now I must run before the Language Police catch me and club me to death.
