Automatic page turn / remote Working Prototype

Automatic page turn / remote Working Prototype

Hi all, I put this together last night.

Its good for skimming books, and avoiding arm fatiuge.

The key component is the worm gear, which slows the action down and increases torque. The cord is about 1 meter long.

The page turn rate is about 1.5 seconds at the moment. It's made from lego (technic) sold around 1995. Sets with similar components are available so you could make your own if you want.

It should be possible to make it nearly silent; this would be an improvement as you can tell from the video!

Here's hoping the members over at the developers thread can get the automatic page turn going in software, so this is unnecessary.

Version 2 will make the second button on the remote press the page backward button (at the moment they both go forward).
