It must have been very frightening to see it catch fire, Cat.

If it's a new cooker then is it still under warranty?
If not, then you might post a message on your workplace notice-board asking if anyone either knows a good repairer, or has a used cooker for sale.

My neighbour had a clother-drier catch fire, but that was because she had never realised that you had to take the lint out of the filter.
