Actually, thinking about it, in the UK we use a mix of both - small amounts are done by tea and table spoons, larger amounts are done by weight.

well, personally i would have given that measure in grammes, and use dl for liquids only, but maybe in sweden they do things differently.
or maybe slite only has a measuring glass with the liquid measures and he must use that for everything.
