Yes, this is how the music works and it's much the same issue - lots of tiny charges, you get the product up front, but they charge you at the end of a day (or a certain charge amount or number of titles, seems a lot of triggers exist). I really wish they would fix the Kindle charges to do the same, although sometimes I really do only buy one a day. Perhaps they want to send a notice to the primary account holder as early as possible, just so you'll notice if your kids (or hubby) are buying books they should not (or a do-it-yourself divorce kit, LOL!).

Another solution would be to let me one-click a Kindle only gift balance that they put on my account and hit my stored CC with, without all the hassle that is entailed currently. They already can separate out promotional balances by which store/product they can be used on (or all those MP3 credits I get would be used for books, here). Of course, making easy for people to set a budget might not be in their best interests.....
