I think this topic has got itself into a little bit of a confusion somewhere....I am not disputing what you say, because it is correct - burn anything and the Co2 will be released....
All I am trying to point out is that Co2 from millions of years ago is
adding to the witches brew. Otherwise it's only recycling (trees) what was captured in the relatively recent past.
