I like an uncluttered desktop. Here's mine (Ubuntu apparently needs no introduction):



Of course, with Compiz Fusion my desktop is actually a cube. The nuts/bolts are supposed to go along with the Cube Gears from the Rotate Cube option, but I'm not sure they do. Here's what it looks like when spinning between desktops:
