Hello Mobileread folk!
I have an Astak EZ Reader (Hanlin V3), which I use just for reading, and I'm very happy with, but I will be replacing it when Hanlin comes out with the larger screen version.
I also have an iRex DR1000s which I use for editing and note taking, and, as much as I like it, it is begging me to be hacked, hardware wise, and I plan to 1) make 2 devices to open the case without damaging it, 2) install a real on/off switch, 3) replace the capacitive touch buttons with mechanical switches, 4) when my battery dies, I will (hopefully) replace it with one with a larger capacity, and 5) access the (full) USB port in the expansion slot.
To facilitate my experimentations, I bought a DR1000s with a broken screen; I am waiting for delivery, now.
I plan to share whatever I learn with this community.
Nice to meet ya!
