I was using a Sony case made for the 505, the one that had that awful light built into it. I removed the light and was using just the case. The 505 cases are just a mm or so too shrt for the 600, but they will fit. My standard Sony case for the 600 arrived yesterday and it is now being used.
The battery issue seems to be clearing up.
