I dunno why, as I wouldn't classify either as the 'best' books I've ever read, but I've read hunter s. thompson's fear and loathing in las vegas probably 5 times now and anne rice's memnoch the devil 4 or 5?
fear and loathing because I love the exact style he used to write that book, none of his other stuff grabbed me like that one, and memnoch because I liked her take on god and the devil. I'm not religious but I like to read about religions whether historical 'fact', historical fiction, or just complete fabrications, go figure.
