Assuming google got all the deals sorted with publishers for new content they would be the ideal partner for sony to replace the current separate deals they have in each country with a different vendor since then they could have a properly integrated store rather than just the crappy link they have to the store of choice currently.
Then again it does seem like such a missed opportunity that they haven't partnered up with somebody like overdrive who would have been able to provide them with a similar setup already.
