i suppose that would depend on your definition of "better" but i actually do have earplugs, which are probably close to actually becoming part of my ears from prolonged use.
they don't actually block out all the noise though, just dampen it slightly (ever so slightly, when the noise is a farking power saw or whatever the hell they're playing with over there), so i've currently got my headphones on and am listening to augie march on volume 11 (and i can STILL hear those power tools !!!). one way or another i'm probably going to go deaf by the end of this.
