I doubt someone can open a dictionary in LIT format and use it, as a dictionary.
It requires to much memory, and needs the dictionary to be precompiled.
The decompiled open ebook files you can convert to any format, given that html as a source format is allowed. In other words, you can convert to iSilo, Plucker, and also MobiPocket.

True about the dictionary. But how many people are actually interested in .LIT dictionaries?

I am more interested in the .LIT eBooks (fiction/nonfiction) market, and if an ebook reader could natively read those .LIT files, it would be a great benefit to many of us (especially to palm-based users).
